Anthony Benedict FCA FIPA
Following five years as a partner in general practice Tony founded Benedict McQueen in 1983, as a firm of Chartered Accountants and Insolvency Practitioners. The highly successful insolvency arm expanded over the next sixteen years and in 1999 merged with two other successful practices to form Benedict Mackenzie.
Tony was President of the Insolvency Practitioners Association in 2000/2001 and, as the firms senior partner, is committed to maintaining high professional standards for insolvency work.

Graham Petersen ACIB FIPA started his career with Barclays Bank, qualifying as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 1992. A partner of Ward Mackenzie since 1994 he founded their Crawley office. With many years’ professional knowledge and experience, Graham is a keen proponent of the ‘rescue culture’ through the use of practical and innovative strategies, and the opportunities it provides to salvage and turn around ailing businesses. Graham heads the Crawley office of Benedict Mackenzie.

Ian Williams FCA MIPA has over thirty years experience in insolvency. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with Cork Gully, becoming an audit partner with that firm before its merger with Grant Thornton.
His increasing involvement in investigation and corporate recovery over the years led him to specialise in this area. He has been involved in a number of high profile cases, including complex cross-border insolvencies, as well as innumerable smaller cases.
In addition to undertaking forensic investigations in support of legal actions for recovery of assets, he also has a particular expertise in investigations into, and providing solutions for, businesses of all sizes in financial difficulties. He joined Benedict McQueen in 1990 and is lead partner at the Central London office.
Ian is a member of the National Association of Non-administrative Receivers (NARA) and can, therefore, take appointments under a fixed charge.

Laurence Pagden FCA MIPA qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and immediately specialised in insolvency. He became a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 2000. He has experience of all aspects of insolvency work from small to large cases, including complex cases of an international nature. He also undertakes forensic investigation work and litigation support roles.

Julie Vahey MIPA began her career in insolvency with one of the founding firms of Benedict Mackenzie in 1994, and was admitted as a member of the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association in 2001.
With twelve year’s experience in all types of insolvency and rescue work, Julie has developed her own area of expertise. Her experience with individuals has resulted in a depth of knowledge of bankruptcy issues, in particular annulment applications. In common with the other partners of Benedict Mackenzie Julie is a keen proponent of the rescue culture for both businesses and individuals.

Rupert Mullins TD FIPA has been in the insolvency profession for over 25 years and has worked on some of the largest, and smallest, assignments in the UK. Starting with Thomson McLintock (now KPMG) in London, he moved to Bristol in 1990, where he set up the BDO Binder Hamlyn South West insolvency practice.
His experience has given him much commercial expertise in saving troubled businesses. He has worked closely with the majority of the major banking groups in the UK. He is also involved in the voluntary sector, is Honorary County Treasurer for St John Ambulance and past chairman of ProHelp, Bristol.
He is the firm’s representative on the Charity Commission Authorised Intermediaries Panel, Business West Professional Advice Service Panel and advisor to a number of other local organisations.
